In September 2000, seeking a place in that years Latin pop boom, the part-Ecuadorian Aguilera recorded a Spanish-language album called Mi Reflejo, learning the lyrics phonetically since she didnt speak Spanish. It was followed quickly by the holiday album My Kind of Christmas; both sold extremely well, a testament to Aguileras popularity. In the spring of 2001, Aguilera was featured along with Pink, Mya, and Lil Kim on the chart-topping blockbuster remake of Patti LaBelles Lady Marmalade featured on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Aguilera was by now a fixture at music industry awards shows; as she enjoyed her celebrity, a collection of old demos recorded when she was 14 and 15 was released under the title Just Be Free, despite Aguileras vehement objections.
Aguilera attempted to deter the mass medias expectations when she issued her second studio album in fall 2002. Stripped, which appeared in October on RCA, was quickly criticized for its adult yet confident approach. Aguileras look had gone from glossy to gritty. She appeared topless on the cover of the album and went nude for a fall issue of Rolling Stone. Debut single revealed her new sexual power and became a chart smash, while showed her softer side. For her next record, however, Aguilera split from producer Scott Storch and went to work with DJ Premier and Linda Perry, among others, for the 2006 Back to Basics, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album, a two-disc set that explored her influences, mainly 20s, 30s, and 40s jazz and blues in the style of Etta James or Billie Holiday, portrayed a more mature yet at the same time provocative singer. The popular single t No Other Man won Aguilera the fourth Grammy Award of her career, and she spent much of the following year on the road, releasing the Back to Basics: Live and Down Under concert DVD to document the tour in late 2007.

Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade Of Hits is the first greatest hits album by pop singer Christina Aguilera. The compilation contains the biggest hits from all of the singer's studio albums released to date: 'Christina Aguilera' (1999), 'Mi Reflejo' (2000), 'Stripped' (2002) and 'Back To Basics' (2006), as well as two new tracks and two re-made tracks. The album was released on November 7, 2008 in UK, and on November 11, 2008 in the US. Two singles were covered: the title track Dynamite. Christina has collaborated with Nelly, Diddy, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, Andrea Bocelli, Luis Fonsi, Steve Winwood, Bigelf, Herbie Hancock and Keizo Nakanishi, but she only included her collaborations with Ricky Martin, Redman, Lil' Kim, Mya, P!nk on the compilation. Just Be Free is an unofficial album of American pop/R B singer Christina Aguilera's early demo recordings (released in August 2001), which were submitted when she was fourteen and fifteen years old. These tracks were never intended to be released to the public, but were instead used as a tool to enter the music industry. In 2000, by which time she was a household name, a single emerged into record stores called Just Be Free, one of the demos Aguilera recorded. When RCA Records discovered the single, they officially advised fans not to purchase it, since it was unauthorized, and had German authorities pull the single off shelves as well. Months later, indie label Warlock Records was set to release Just Be Free, an album which contains the demo tracks. Aguilera filed a breach of contract and unfair-competition suit against Warlock and former producers Michael Brown and Robert Alleca in an effort to block the release, arguing that the album didn't reflect her music direction because of her age when she recorded it, and how they used Aguilera's name, likeness and image without permission to advertise a product.
